Terms & conditions
Last updated 21 October 2026. These terms cover using this website and working with us on a website, online shop, app or care plan. We've kept them in plain English. If anything is unclear, email info@yourappy.com.
1. About these terms
"YourAppy", "we", "us" and "our" mean YourAppy, a web design and app development studio based in Sussex, UK. "You" means the person or business using this website or buying our services. Your written quote (sometimes called a proposal) forms part of our agreement with you. If the quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins.
2. Using this website
- We work to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, but it's for general information only. Prices shown are starting points, and your quote sets the actual price.
- The design, text, graphics and code of this website belong to us unless stated otherwise. Screenshots of client projects are shown with our clients' permission and remain theirs.
- Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We aren't responsible for their content.
- Please don't misuse the site, for example by trying to break its security or sending spam through our forms.
3. Quotes and scope
- Every project starts with a fixed written quote setting out what's included, the timeline and the price. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
- The price is fixed for the work described in the quote. If you ask for something that isn't included, we'll tell you before doing it and agree any extra cost with you in writing first. We never add charges without your agreement.
- Timelines are our honest estimate. They depend on receiving your content, feedback and approvals on time, and they move if those arrive later than planned.
4. Payments
- Unless your quote says otherwise, we ask for 50% of the project price before we start and the remaining 50% at launch. Larger projects may be split into milestone payments set out in the quote.
- Invoices are due within 14 days. If a payment is late, we may pause work, and we won't launch or hand over the finished project until the balance is paid.
- Care plans are paid monthly in advance.
- Some costs are paid directly to third parties, such as your domain name and card processing fees from your payment provider. We'll flag these up front.
5. What we need from you
- Text, photos, logos, product details and other content when we need them, and feedback and approvals within a reasonable time.
- Confirmation that you own, or have permission to use, everything you send us, and that it's lawful. You're responsible for the accuracy of your content and for your business complying with the law, including on your own website, such as your privacy notice and terms of sale.
- Access to any accounts we need, such as your domain, Google Business Profile or payment provider. Wherever possible, accounts should be set up in your name.
6. Design rounds, sign-off and launch
- Your quote says how many rounds of design changes are included. Further rounds can be added at a fixed price agreed first.
- We launch once you've approved the finished project and the balance is paid. Approving it means you're happy it matches what was agreed.
- If you spot a bug, meaning something we built that doesn't work as agreed, in the 30 days after launch, we'll fix it free of charge. Small tweaks shortly after launch are on us too. New features and content changes after that are quoted separately or covered by a care plan.
7. Who owns what
- Once your project is paid in full, you own the website, shop or app we built for you, including its design and the code written specifically for it. Your domain and your content always stay yours.
- Our projects use some general tools, code libraries and know-how that we use across lots of projects, and some third-party components such as fonts, open-source code or paid services. You get the right to use these as part of your project, and third-party items stay under their own licences.
- If you ever want to move on, we'll hand over everything you own. There's no lock-in.
8. Showing your project in our portfolio
Once your project is live, we may show it in our portfolio and case studies, using screenshots, a short description and a link. If you'd prefer we didn't, or the work is confidential, just tell us and we'll keep it private.
9. Hosting, domains and third-party services
- Your project may rely on services run by other companies, such as hosting providers, Google, payment providers like Stripe, and form or email services. These have their own terms, which you agree to when the account is set up for you.
- We choose reputable providers, but we're not responsible for their outages, price changes or changes to how their services work. If one affects your project, we'll help you find a fix.
10. Care plans
- Care plans start from £29 a month. What's included is set out when you sign up, such as hosting, security updates, backups, monitoring and a set amount of small edits each month.
- Unused edit time doesn't roll over to the next month.
- You can cancel at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for, and we'll help you move hosting elsewhere if needed.
11. Ending a project early
- Either of us can end a project by telling the other in writing. You pay for the work done up to that point, and we'll hand over that work once it's paid for. If the work done is worth less than the deposit you've paid, we'll refund the difference.
- If you're a consumer, meaning you're buying for personal use and not for a business, you usually have 14 days from agreeing a project to cancel. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work done up to that point.
12. Rankings and results
We build every site to give you the best possible chance in search, but nobody controls Google. We can't guarantee rankings, traffic, enquiries or sales.
13. Our liability
- We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill.
- We aren't liable for indirect or knock-on losses, such as lost profit, lost business or lost data, or for problems caused by third-party services, by changes made by anyone other than us, or by content you supply.
- Our total liability to you in connection with a project is limited to the amount you've paid us for that project.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.
14. Confidentiality and personal data
We keep your business information confidential and only use it to deliver your project. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information. Where we handle personal data on your behalf, for example your customers' orders or enquiries in a shop or hub we run for you, we do so only on your instructions and can put a data processing agreement in place.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your project is the one in place when you accepted your quote, unless we both agree otherwise in writing.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
